Vote for us as your favorite Los Angeles-area toy shop!

That's right, we're asking you to vote for us yet again, because we're lucky enough to be nominated again in a 'Best of' category! We're a finalist in the Awesomest Toy & Bookstores category http://awards.redtri.com/?contest=toy-shops-bookstores&phase=voting&location=los-angeles in Red Tricycle's Totally Awesome Awards! The Totally Awesome Awards are the biggest (and most fun!) online program that recognizes the best brands, businesses and products that make parents' lives easier and parenting more fun.  We're especially excited as Red Tricycle was founded by a mom-to-be who spent time during her pregnancy wandering around the city finding great family-friendly locations to visit and shop at.  We're thrilled that she's chosen us as one of her finalists, and we would love it if you'd be willing to show your appreciation for us as well by clicking on the above link and voting for us!  For a small business such as ours, every person who knows about our shop matters, and we hope to continue to keep our shop full of awesome toys and games for many years to come.

Re-order madness is happening RIGHT NOW!

And by madness, I mean that when we aren't checking in new items (Zombie Hexbugs!), we are furiously writing up new orders to get our shops full in time for the holidays.  Yes, we said holidays.  In October.  You guys are really on to shopping early this year!  Today is all about writing up reorders from some of our biggest lines, including Hasbro and Toysmith, so if you are dying for, say, Battleship, all I can say is it will be coming within the next few weeks, barring any delays from Hasbro (let's face it, it's had a bit of a resurgence this year!).  We're also going to be putting together a section of Landis' Labyrinth Employee selections with write-ups about the items.  There are so many great products in our shop that it's easy to overlook some real gems so we want you all to see why we love these products and why we think you may love them as well.

So before we jump back into the catalogs to bring you even more goodies, we just want to let you know that yes, we have Zombie Hexbugs, as well as a ton of other Hexbugs in at 140 N. Larchmont, and a new line called Little Giraffe at 144 N. Larchmont.  Little Giraffe is possibly our most difficult-to-put-down line, simply because everything in it is so very soft and cuddly.  As you can guess from the name, they do have giraffes that you need to hold in person to see why we wanted them in at Landis' Labyrinth, and absolutely beautiful, plush baby blankets that we wish came in adult sizes.  It's strange to term a blanket 'luxurious', but these ones are!  For a very special baby gift, this is something that we highly recommend considering.

Greetings from Landis' Labyrinth in Manhattan Beach!

I am are very excited about fall arriving, and so gracefully. This means... Holiday season! And we are gearing up and getting ready! To start off, we just got in a big shipment of Plan Toys in Manhattan Beach this week. I really like this company for many reasons. They are a bonafide Green Company and provide fun, functional, and educational Green Toys. All of these traditional, yet unique toys are made of sustainale, recycled, recyclable, and non-toxic materials. On each box, like many toy companies, they provide a brief summary of what type of developmental skills this toy will help stimulate.

We have Plan Toys dollhouses, banjos, mosaic tiles, croquet sets, baby walkers, and more! My personal favorite is the Stacking Bear. It encourages communication through bright colors and different shapes. This toy can also help develop problem solving and fine motor skills while stacking and matching shapes. It's a fun and eco-friendly take on a traditional stacking toy.

Who wouldn't love colorful, durable, wooden toys?! Come on by to check 'em out!

Hello Kitty, you're so silly turning into a turkey (or hamburger)!

The day, folks, that we've been waiting what seems like eons for has arrived.  Landis' Labyrinth Toy Shop now has a Hello Kitty plush that flips inside out to become a turkey (the photo above shows the turkey next to the Hello Kitty that it turns into).  Not really your thing?  Don't worry, there are plenty of other Hello Kitty goodies fresh out of the package and on our shelves just waiting for you. Including, but not limited to, my favorite pencil-case-that-also-has-a-thermometer-pencil-sharpener-magnifying-glass-etc.  And now available in a delightful cosmetic theme.  Hello Kitty loves to look her best, even on a pencil case.  And for the more refined Hello Kitty fans, we also have a necklace and two-finger ring available in our jewelry case that are just covered in crystals and are guaranteed to proclaim to the world that you are a die-hard fan of the world's most famous cat.  Sorry, Garfield.

This is only the beginning of our holiday Hello Kitty shipment.  There will be many more items trickling in over the next month, so drop in often and remember that we have a limited supply of each item.

The more the merrier... introducing our newest shop at 144 N. Larchmont Blvd!

It's finally happened!  The long-awaited opening of our third location at 144 N. Larchmont Blvd, conveniently located just a few doors down from our original (and still very much open) shop at 140 N. Larchmont Blvd.  And judging by the amount of happy faces in both shops, it appears that you all are just as excited as we are to have the new space open.

The first question people have asked is, "What is the difference between the two shops?"  Well, we like to think of the shop at 144 as our 'developmental, learning, creative side'.  Art, puzzles, musical instruments, learning tools, and books for all ages are located here, as well as newborn baby-2 years in the back.  Over at 140, we still have all of our Lego, board/card games, classic toys, our NEW teen/tween/adult section, science, rain gear, backpacks/lunch bags, and our ridiculously girly back room with Calico Critters, Corolle baby dolls, Barbie, and other girly goodies.  Plus of course our "boy" section with superheroes, cars, etc.  So there's something for nearly all ages at either shop!

We'll be posting up photos of both shops once we're done writing up reorders for all of the items that have already sold out for us.  You'll also be seeing us at a ton of school holiday events over the next month and a half, and we've got some events/ideas going on for all three of our shops to make the coming months a fun time to shop for toys!  Stay tuned, and in the meantime, check out the shops on Larchmont to see where everything is, and don't forget to visit out Manhattan Beach location for unique toys that you can't find at Target along with great customer service and our famous complimentary gift bags!
